What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is a broad category of activities that bring enjoyment or amusement to people. They are generally relaxing, but may also involve physical activity or competition. They range from private entertainment choices (such as selecting a movie from a huge array of pre-recorded products), to dining adapted for two; to parties ranging in size and style; to performances intended for thousands or even global audiences. They often have connections across different media: the story of Scheherazade, for example, was used as the basis for orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski, and for films by Pasolini and others, and a number of innovative video games.
